H.U.G.E. Camp Part I

17 December, 2006 | Written by Patchay at 10:17 PM in ,

December is the month of happenings ... the biggest event so far this month was Youth Alive Malaysia's H.U.G.E. Camp 2006.

H.U.G.E. stands for "Have U Got Enuf". This year's H.U.G.E. was aptly themed "SOLD". The point is: "Are you sold to the world, or all sold out for Jesus?"

From December 11 to 14, the Melaka Watercity Resort in Ayer Keroh was the place where hundreds of young people from around Malaysia gathered to sing praises and have fun together.

The campsite was really spectacular. The wooden galley above is a replica of a Portuguese ship during Malacca's colonial days. The resort is surrounded by a huge man-made lake. Getting to and fro the resort lobby and my apartment could not be better than crossing a rope suspension bridge that hung across the lake. We can even go kayaking and go-karting during free times !!!

This is the latest style of ushering people into the hall. Get ready to bend your body and enter the tunnel ! More like a mouse entering a mouse hole. :)

Imagine for every night there, we had a totally exhilarating concert! The worship led by the Psallo Band from Indonesia was simply awesome! We were truly mesmerized by their performance. ...Jump ! Jump ! Jump !

2nd day: Good morning everyone...

The main speaker was Rev. Mike Pilavachi from England, who also founded a youth organization called Soul Survivor. And he was always humorous, jovial and cool...

The pastors including Ps. Clement Wong and Ps. Julie Khoo (from my church) showed many good talents. Rev. Mike tried to sing a Beetles song, Ps. Julie danced her way on stage, cheered by all campers alike LOL!

Me and the Botswanians

"Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head." (Matthew 8:20) Huh??? Yes, it was the most entertaining sermon throughout the camp !

To be continued...

Snapshots KLCC

06 December, 2006 | Written by Patchay at 3:41 PM in

Took a ride to KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Center) recently...

A very beautiful day right here at downtown Kuala Lumpur. But the weather forecast reports that it will rain heavily later (that) afternoon. So don't ever underestimate a good weather!

An engineering marvel that brings so much awe to visitors from around the world. No stranger to me, it is the Petronas Twin Towers. Standing majestically, it has been the pride of all Malaysians today.

Jingle Bells are coming. The Malaysia Year-End Mega Sales is also back! What have you bought for your loved ones this Christmas? No doubt, Suria KLCC is a good place to shop for all your seasonal needs.

The mall has just put up their tallest tree. I was at the second floor when I took this picture. Not able to take the whole tree, but never mind. Having Christmas carols played in the background remind me of the enchanting and joyous year-end celebrations that I had last year. Really, everyone I met was already in Christmas mood.

02 December, 2006 | Written by Patchay at 7:21 PM in

The national launch of Visit Malaysia Cyber Campaign was held yesterday (December 1) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre at 11.00am. Being a Cyber Warrior, I was invited alongside many other Malaysians including students, professionals and corporate leaders.

Cyber Warriors @ Work

Themed "Think Holiday, Think Malaysia!", the launch was officiated by Ministry of Tourism secretary-general YBhg Datuk Dr Victor Wee. Also present were Chief Imagination Officer of Rayma (the initiator of VMCC) Ms Pat Lu, PIKOM chairman Mr Lee Boon Kok and PIKOM PC Fair 2006 organising committee chairman Mr Low Wai Sun.

Visit Malaysia Cyber Campaign 2007

CALLING ALL MALAYSIANS and FRIENDS OF MALAYSIA near and far!

Next year, Malaysia will be celebrating 50 Years of Independence. In conjunction with her Golden Jubilee, all Malaysians are encouraged to do something for their country. One easy way is to invite their friends from all over the world to come visit and celebrate with Malaysia, through the Internet!

The press conference...

But how? Join the Visit Malaysia Cyber Campaign (supported by Tourism Malaysia) now and start sending out email invitations, e-card and e-video invitations and even SMS invitations to your friends overseas. Alternatively, you can place a VMCC badge on your website or blog.

By joining the campaign, you become a Cyber Warrior and you're able to participate in various competitions, in which very attractive prizes are being offered!

This campaign is unique, perhaps it is the first in the world where citizens come together to promote their country via the Internet! ...Malaysia Boleh!
