Eight year old AirAsia has been approached by Manchester United to sponsor their jersey.

---

Asia's largest budget airline and Malaysian-born global brand - AirAsia - has been invited by world famous Manchester United FC (Man Utd) to sponsor their official jersey in the upcoming EPL/Champions League seasons.

The news was proudly revealed by AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes in his weblog last week.

European and world club football champions Man Utd had to find new sponsors for their jersey after insurance giant AIG (commonly known as AIA in Malaysia), which avoided bankruptcy last year due to the financial crisis, did not seek to renew their current sponsorship deal.

The AIG deal is due to expire in May 2010 and is reported to be worth US$100 million (RM360 million).

As a fan of Man Utd and a minority shareholder of AirAsia Bhd, I would say:

"Let it happen!!! ...but

Preferably only if AirAsia is able to secure financing for the millions of dollars. The opportunity to promote AirAsia is massive but the airline needs to be EXTRA vigilant of the pros and cons, especially at this time of global economic turmoil."

Earlier this year, Man Utd was reported to have invited India's Sahara Group to enter the sponsorship deal.

And apparently, Man Utd has also invited another large Malaysian company. Guess who?

Its official opening was held about one month ago.

Although specializing in fried chicken and mash potatoes, Popeyes also have seafood (fish and shrimp) and burgers on its reasonably priced menu.

The master franchise holder for Popeyes in Malaysia is the same franchise holder for Domino's Pizza in Malaysia.

There are about 1,950 Popeyes stores in the US and in about two dozen countries around the world.

Malaysia's neighbour, Singapore has 2 stores in Changi airport and 1 store at Singapore Flyer.

The Horizon From Air

08 February, 2009 | Written by Patchay at 5:39 PM in , ,

In a few days time, it will be my 5th time boarding a plane - in just within the last 7 weeks!

Photography onboard the aircraft is usually not encouraged. In fact, it is prohibited when taking off and landing.

But the last time, I took some snapshots from my seat while cruising on air.

Passing by an army of clouds.

However, my destination was cloudless, and interestingly, I experienced the hottest heatwave in that State's history there.

I always wish to be a pilot. Maybe someday.

Looking dusty. The sunlight slowly fades away.

And this is how brightness and darkness collide in mid-air :lol.
