Every youth has a Facebook account nowadays, that includes Ris Low, former Miss World Singapore 2009 who resigned recently.

I guess Ms Ris Low likes DORAEMON too,

besides wearing RED, LOUD and something that "Boomzzz" when she's feeling naughty.

Miss World 2009: Singapore and Malaysia

27 September, 2009 | Written by Patchay at 12:23 PM in ,

19-year-old Ris Low is already one of the most controversial Miss World Singapore in recent years

She was panned in the media for her poor command of English, and then made headlines again when a Singaporean paper reported that she was sentenced to 24 months of probation for credit card frauds in May.

Last Friday, Ms Ris Low has confirmed her conviction on 5 charges of misappropriation, cheating, using illegally obtained credit cards, and impersonating their users' identities.

Listen to what she has to say about herself and fashion:

"If I'm feeling naughty, then I'll wear something RATT and LOUD !! Something you know.. BOOMZZZ..."

Did she impressed you?

She of course made me laugh.

A Tribute to Michael Jackson

26 June, 2009 | Written by Patchay at 5:37 PM in

From Nairobi to Hong Kong and Dubai to Los Angeles, the world is mourning the sudden demise of the 'King of Pop', 'Wacko Jacko', 'Moonwalker'

Michael Jackson who was due to perform 50 farewell concerts in London beginning next month had suddenly passed away in Los Angeles due to what many believed as heart attack.

He was 50.

1958 - 2009

News of Michael Jackson's death exploded the Internet last night (5.00am Malaysian time), crashing websites and causing Twitter to grind to a halt.

Quotes:

  • Actress Elizabeth Taylor, one of Jackson's closest and longstanding friends, was “too devastated” to issue a statement, her spokesperson said to People.Com.
  • Michael's first wife Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of Elvis Presley, told MTV News that his death had left her speechless.
  • Pop star Justin Timberlake said in a statement that the world had “lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only pop music, but of all music”.
  • “His talent, his wonderment and his mystery make him a legend.” director Steven Spielberg told Entertainment Weekly.

  • "This is such a tragic loss and a terrible day," said Beyonce.
  • Madonna said in a statement: "I can't stop crying over the sad news. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever!"
  • Britney Spears said in a statement: "I was so excited to see his show in London. We were going to be on tour in Europe at the same time and I was going to fly in to see him. He has been an inspiration throughout my entire life and I'm devastated he's gone!"
  • Lindsay Lohan: "I'm so sad about this news...people need to respect the Jackson family's privacy..."
  • John Mayer said: "I think we'll mourn his loss as well as the loss of ourselves as children listening to Thriller on the record player. Dazed in the studio. A major strand of our cultural DNA has left us. RIP MJ."

Edison Chen visits KL next week

12 June, 2009 | Written by Patchay at 11:17 PM in ,

Canadian-born Hong Kong celebrity Edison Chen will be in Kuala Lumpur June 19-20.

To my surprise, Edison will be in KL to open his 2nd boutique Juice in Bangsar.

The "highly anticipated" opening ceremony will take place on June 20th at 3pm, where the boutique brand owners Edison Chen, Kevin Poon and special guest Sam Lee will join Juice KL local partner Edwin Choong to usher in prosperity with a traditional Chinese lion dance performance.

The goods will be available for purchase after 5pm, where the general public will be allowed into the store. After that, the celebrations will continue with an afterparty at Zouk Club KL.

Edison, whose showbiz career was destroyed following a sex scandal with several Hong Kong female celebrities, will be focusing on his fashion business.

Now You Can Make A Difference!

02 February, 2008 | Written by Patchay at 12:08 AM in ,

On the 25th of January 2008, Lee Nian Ning [current medical student at UNSW Sydney, Public Services Department (or JPA) scholarship holder, 12As SPM student, a former Penang state swimmer] was on her way from Penang to KL to meet her boyfriend, Chung Lern.

Photo credit TheStar, courtesy of BusCrashNoMore.

She never arrived.

The double-decker express bus that Nian Ning was travelling skidded, swayed and crashed sideways, and was further hit from the rear by an incoming MPV at KM382 Slim River.

Nian Ning was sitting at the back row of the bus.

THE WORST THING IS THAT THE BUS DRIVER HAD 13 OUTSTANDING POLICE SUMMONSES DATED AS FAR AS 8 YEARS AGO!

This is way too much!

Although I do not personally know her well (I've seen her around at Sunway College), I'm very saddened to hear about her sudden loss.

I wish to convey my sincere condolences and prayers to all her loved ones.

-PETITION To Have Safer Bus Rides For Long Distance Routes -

We, the concerned youths of Malaysia express appalled anger towards the Slim River Bus Crash incident that claimed the life of Lee Nian Ning, 21; Mohd. Zailani, 23; and Pang Boon Eng, 20 on the 25th of January 2008. This is not the first time that such an incident has occurred.

Despite numerous complaints and public uproar in the past, incidents like this continue to occur. It was reported that the driver’s company had 13 summonses on that bus itself. We find it unacceptable that such a company could have operated that vehicle on the road.

What are the explanations?

Hundreds of thousands of university students just like Nian Ning and us rely on such public transport to travel back home.

A human life should not be taken lightly.

How could a vehicle with 13 summonses be free on the roads and not be held by the authorities?

We, the following, hereby demand that the relevant authorities set up a committee consisting of road safety experts and representatives from relevant public bodies to conduct a thorough study to find effective solutions to ensure that mistakes like this do not occur again in the future.

We will not be quiet until we see it in the media that satisfactory measures have been taken.

NOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!

First Ever Fly-niversary

25 November, 2006 | Written by Patchay at 7:06 PM in , ,

So on 18 November, I went to a Birthday Party again.

The party go-ers (picture courtesy of Humblerboy)

This time it was FlyFM's 1st Anniversary. FlyFM is one of Malaysia's newest and fastest growing English radio station. One thing I didn't know is that this station is based in Kuala Lumpur International Airport!!! Ermmm...sounds to me like an exclusive airport radio station..."KLIA FM"?...but it has gone nationwide ever since.

Fly Guy makes us feeling "Fly". (I mean feeling Happy!)

As usual, it was another episode of a rainy evening. We have been praying really hard for the thunderstorm to Go Go Away! True enough by 8pm, the torrential downpour had stop falling on us, as we stood together rejoicing and glorifying "Mother Nature" for answering our prayers.

FlyFM's deejays, Shel and Ben were great entertainers, not to mention others such as Fly Guy, Phat Fabes, Steve, Nina, Basil, Jules, and many more from the FlyFM Team.

THe FlyFM Team and the Celebrations...

There were many local singers performing on stage that night. Much later, we also met Faizal, the finalist in the One In A Million reality show. While performing, he had not only came down the stage once, but more than twice. Interestingly, he had also helplessly climbed over the security barrier that seperates the audience and the stage, almost falling into the hands of the crowd to greet his screaming fans.

Pop Shuvit in action...

Many of the singers were unknown to me before this event ...but of course I did recognise Camilia and Pop Shuvit, the only local Hip Hop Rock band that have more chart-topping tracks in the Japanese market, even beating luminaries like Linkin Park.

I could feel the instant hype; all of my friends were already screaming their lungs out. The performers kept the crowd roaring for More and More...

Yeapieee...popular club DJ Jungle Jerry and Joey G of Channel [V] were also present to further enhance the electryfying atmosphere.
